MDF skirting boards are by far the most common type of skirting found in the building industry today. You may find oak skirting boards and other hardwood skirting boards around in fancy hotels or in the home where someone has taken great care with their decoration or maybe have had an interior designer in, however if you’re in need of fast and furious cost effective yet extremely good quality skirting boards, you may as well just go for a high density mdf skirting and choose from one of our many, many profiles.
Yes we can provide you all of the usual choices of profiles when it comes to selecting your skirting profile, such as ogee, torus, bevelled and bullnose however I’m sure, like me, you’ll be wanting something a little more interesting and will be amazed and simply chuffed to find that we have a whole heap of other profiles available that are not available from anywhere else!
You may rock up at your local timber yard or DIY shed but I can pretty much guarantee you that they will ONLY have the simplest and most standard moulding profiles available, in a pretty shoddy quality material, whether it be mdf, softwood ( pine) or even hardwood. Why is this? Well, they are in the business of making as much money as they can from you, their would-be customer, whilst paying the very least they can possible for the materials.
“Surely not?”, you may say… However it is very true. Our MDF skirting is made only from the very best, high density water resistant boards, profiled with sharp cutters on the latest profiling machinery, whereas the above will use the most economical mdf, thin stuff with very low density construction and no water resistance whatsoever.
If you are going to be redecorating your house and considering using MDF materials such as skirting boards, architraves, dado rails and even door frames – then think carefully about who you buy from because MDF is not MDF as they may try convincing you is the case.
